1. Identify candidacy criteria for a bone anchored implant device based on hearing loss and age.

2. Describe appropriate testing options for candidacy determination and followup visits.

3. List the differences between softband and surgical fittings, as well as considerations for special populations.

Description: 

This course will review a Bone Anchored Implant Pediatric Protocol.  We will discuss who is a candidate, possible ways to evaluate candidacy and special considerations for select populations.

Margaret McRedmond AuD is an Associate Director of Vanderbilt Medical Centers pediatric audiology program.  She is a member of the Vanderbilt Microtia/Atresia Clinic Team.  Dr. McRedmond has had a large caseload of children with microtia/atresia for the last 13 years.  

Brandy Stephens, AuD is a pediatric audiologist at Vanderbilt Medical Center.  She is also a member of the Vanderbilt Microtia/Atresia Clinic Team and is the lead clinician in charge of the bone anchored implant team of audiologists.
