  1. Identify updates and changes to CPT and HCPCS codes relevant to audiology practice
  2. Identify updates and changes to ICD-10 codes relevant to audiology practice
  3. Identify and describe components of the Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) as it relates to audiology reporting

Description: 

This presentation will review updates and changes to coding and billing, as well as introduce the Quality Payment Program (QPP) requirements for audiologists as defined by CMS, including reporting under the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

Alyssa Needleman, Ph.D., is the Clinical Director and an Associate Professor in the Department of Audiology at Nova Southeastern University. Her primary responsibilities are management of clinical operations within the Nova Southeastern University Audiology Clinic, as well as coordination of internship and externship experiences, both within the Nova Southeastern University Audiology Clinic and at external clinical training facilities.  Dr. Needleman teaches doctoral courses entitled Coding & Reimbursement, Ethics, Practice Management, Interprofessional Education, Research Methods, Acoustics, Psychoacoustics, and Implantable Hearing Technologies.  Dr. Needleman currently serves as co-chair for the Coding and Reimbursement Committee for the American Academy of Audiology. Prior to joining Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Needleman served in a variety of roles in academia, hospital administration and industry, including extensive experience in medical device manufacturing, overseeing Product Research and Development, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs as well as education and training with major hearing industry manufacturers.
